Knowledge
PesaCheck is Africa's largest indigenous fact-checking organisation, debunking misleading claims and providing accurate information for sound decision-making.
Incubator
PesaCheck incubator helps organisations establish standalone fact-checking desks: methodology, corrections policy, tooling and the first months of published output. It is the most involved of our programmes and runs with a small number of partners at a time.
Mentorships
Our mentorship programme pairs journalists starting a fact-checking desk with PesaCheck editors, over a fixed term with agreed outputs. Mentees publish under their own mastheads, with editorial review rather than ghostwriting.
Applications open twice a year and are announced on the Media Centre.
Training
We run verification training for newsrooms, civil-society organisations and universities, in the languages our desks publish in. Courses cover source discovery, image and video verification, and reading public finance documents.
